South Australian State Hunt

50 horses and their skilled riders plus 100 onlookers joined the Kangaroo Island Hunt Club over the Gutsy Weekend to ride the hunt course on Eleanor Downs. Port, music, amazing locally cooked food and local hospitality made for an amazing day.
Mediterranean meets Kangaroo Island

Celebrated chef across Australia and the Mediterranean, Kat Williams joined us at The Shearing Shed with her amazing family.
They served a delicious tapas cuisine that was paired with local wine, Grasshopper beer while we listened to live music.
Adelaide Guitar Festival

In collaboration with the Adelaide Festival, we hosted the Adelaide Guitar Festival ‘On The Road’ Tour. Well known musicians including Jimmy Bay, Aimee Volkovsky, Aiden ‘Jazzy’ Jones, Lecia Louise, Richard Glatz, The Jacky Winter Band and the Adelaide Guitar Festival Artistic Director Slava and Sharon Grioryan. It was a massive afternoon of great music, great food, great vibes and great beer!
Brews, Tunes & BBQ Fest

The newest festival to hit the shores of Kangaroo Island. Bluegrass band The Cherry Pickers, New York Hall of Fame Chris Finnen and KI’s own Jacky Winter rocked the stage and entertained 150 audience members. Hosted by the one and only MANBO, launching Kangaroo Island’s newest beer, Grasshopper Brewing, and topped with a delicious char grilled BBQ by KI BBQ Boys. The day was epic!
Barefaced Stories

In collaboration with Country Arts SA and KI Art Feast we hosted Barefaced Stories. Community members learnt the art of telling part of their story and then had the opportunity to share that story with eager and supportive family and friends. The evening was a special blend of live music, honest story telling, a delicious BBQ of Kangaroo Island chicken and our new Grasshopper beer.

Adelaide’s singer song writer Naomi Keyte and experimental guitarist Django brought to The Shearing Shed thoughtful, timeless and confessional original music. Top that with Kangaroo Island’s Jungli Slumber and we had a wonderful night of live music, delicious curries and our new Grasshopper beer.
KI Hunt Finale

5th June 20201. In the middle of winter Australian singer songwriter, Cookie Baker, supported by Django and Olivia Baker visited The Shearing Shed for an intimate night of guitar, piano and storytelling.
2020 Guroo Wine Launch
An initiative of winemaker Nick Dugmore of The Stoke Wines, inviting well-known winemakers to select grapes from Kangaroo Island to create exceptional wines. Winemaker Charlotte Hardy of Charlotte Dalton Wines was guest Guroo for 2020. Eleanor Downs hosted the launch under the gums trees next to Wittows Creek and fresh Kangaroo Island lamb, marron and vegetables were on the menu.
